Sunderland is going to open their Premier League campaign against Birmingham City. Sunderland’s striker Kenwyne Jones has left the club and joined Stoke City for a transfer fee of £8 million, which is a record for the latter club. Stoke City’s manager Tony Pulis says, the inclusion of Jones to his side will increase the competition among the other strikers of the club. As a result they will get more goals.
On the other hand the veteran captain of Birmingham City, Stephen Carr has signed a new contract with the club. He appeared in 40 games for the club last season. The captain was surprised on his renewal of contract and at the same time has promised to live up to the expectation and faith his team has in him.
