Chelsea has started their campaign of this season’s Premier League with a bang. They literally molested and destroyed West Bromwich with six goals to nil. The Blues‘ star striker Didier Drogba has scored the first hat-trick of the season, a feat that one can only dream of to start a season with. Florent Malouda started the rampage, followed by a free-kick goal from Drogba a blink before the half-time. Drogba maintained the scoring spree when he netted another goal when the game resumed after half-time, followed by a close range goal from Frank Lampard. Drogba and Malouda shared a piece later, making the score line to 6 – 0 resulting in an emphatic win for the last season’s crowned heroes.
Wigan on the other hand had a experienced a similar story like West Brom when they were overwhelmed by the Premier League returnees Blackpool. The composed and well-organised Ian Holloway’s team thrashed Wigan by 4 goals to nil. Blackpool last played at the top level in 1971, however, none had the impression of their long absence from the top flight while watching the game.
